Abstract:   (39 Views)
The aim of this research is to examine the application of good governance principles in the approved Hijab and Chastity Bill of 1402. Good governance is a term that signifies a paradigm shift in the role of government and governance, creating the grounds for equal participation of all citizens in the decision-making process and acknowledging the fact that governance belongs to the people and is shaped by them. One of the recent decisions that has been accompanied by numerous criticisms is the approval of the Hijab and Chastity Bill, with critics arguing that the principles of good governance have not been observed in the process of passing this bill. This raises the question of to what extent the principles of good governance have been considered in the Hijab and Chastity Bill. The findings indicate that the use of good governance principles is crucial for achieving desirable legislation and creating effective laws, as these principles are essential in ensuring justice, transparency, and public participation in the process of lawmaking. Despite the criticisms that the approval of the Hijab and Chastity Bill has received from proponents, the implementation of this bill in society requires the consideration of governance principles in order to both realize desirable governance principles and gain acceptance from the society, ultimately guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of citizens under this framework.
